First aid measures after solid wood floors are soaked in water

In daily life, there are many reasons for the floor to soak in water, such as being soaked by rain, bursting of water pipes, running water from heating pipes, and water seepage in hidden pipelines. If similar problems occur, if they are dealt with in a timely manner, there is no need to re-lay the floor. So, how should first aid be done after solid wood flooring is soaked in water?

Solid wood flooring is made of pure solid wood, which preserves the natural properties of wood. Therefore, it is easy to deform after absorbing water. After the solid wood floor is soaked in water, the surface water should be wiped dry as soon as possible. At the same time, you can use a vacuum cleaner to aim at the splicing gap of the submerged floor to absorb water vapor, or use a hair dryer to blow cold air against the splicing seam until it is dry. Never use hot air to prevent the surface from being cracked and deformed due to heat and drying.

If a large area is soaked in water, to keep the floor from deforming, after processing the surface, you should pry the floor up from the gap of the expansion joint, dry it piece by piece with an absorbent cloth, and stack it in a "well" shape. Put it on the bottom, and place the floor upside down to prevent the surface from cracking due to rapid drying. At the same time, it should be placed in a ventilated place to dry in the shade. Under normal circumstances, as long as the rescue is in time and the floor is dry in the shade, it can be used again by professionals. However, if the solid wood floor is warped and deformed due to soaking in water, it is better to replace it.
